Can you imagine Blackmore make a guitar clinic?
Will it be about writing riff, make a poetry about kingdom and sword, playing mandolin, dancing the fingers on the fret, making wonderful guitar solos, how to destroy guitar on stage and burn amplifier, how to manage good and bad mood in one time, or just playing riff of SOTW in two hours?

HEHE..JUST KIDDING! I’M A BLACKMORE FANS SO THE WORDS ABOVE IS JUST FROM WHAT I SEE WHEN HE’S ON STAGE. BUT PLEASE COMMENT MY WORDS SO THIS PARTICULAR FORUM COULD BE FUN.

That first post is very funny, talking as if even one person who’s visited this sight over the years is not a Blackkmore fan, cracks me up every time someone mentions such an obvious thing.
To think any of us aren’t a fan of his is just insane… what on earth is it? The fact that someone ‘might’ like Steve Morse too, does not mean they aren’t a Blackmore fan, so what the hell is the deal with that mentality?

“Hey, look at me, I’m a Blackmore fan…” and someone here is not?

You are absolutely right, Crimson Ghost. Yeah, I’m Steve Morse fan too. So is there anything wrong if I like them both very much? Like a person become both Beatles and Stones fan, or Oasis and Blur fan.

We can just enjoy the music and personal attitude should be in another way.

i agree with elprudeep ..i love both first blackmore from a young age when his image as well as guitar paying amazed me..when i learned to play myself i then appreciated better more tech players ie like steve morse who is one of the most brilliant players ever…if you dont think so listen to dregs albums or steve morse albums..for a guitar player they are a must ….i still appreciate ritchies solos as they are melodic and full of feel…this is why they are the top players like jeff beck they also have their own identities on guitar…

    @ 7

    Are ya sure?

I think that , for example, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Beatles and so on all have lively forums. Don t they?

I reckon THS and all would be around even without RB , DP and so on……

Yeah, so many ‘Blackmore vs Morse’ were happened in this life, even THE REAL FACT IS Blackmore never ever (and maybe never forever as so many activities done by both of them) have even a little chat with Morse as I knew. So this continuous ‘virtual war’ was done by some ‘wasting time’ men. Music is music.

In an interview around 1996-1997, Blackmore highly praised Steve Morse as an excellent choice to fill up his big and troubled shoes.

I never saw or read Blackmore criticize other guitarists even Tommy Bolin was given a tribute by him. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Difference is Morse is a teacher too, but Blackmore isn’t that one.

    Crimson Ghost says:

With all due respect that is not actually true, Blackmore succeeded at teaching at least one guy, and did so very well… that would be of course ‘Stuart Smith’ who now plays with the fabulous American version of The Sweet, fronted by founding member Steve Priest, and he is great.

But I agree with the facts that can’t be argued, Steve Morse has a masters degree, therefore he has major instructing ability.
And I have read Blackmore knock a guitarist or two, even Jeff Beck who he obviously respects dearly, but says he can’t write, produce or arrange to save his life, unlike Jimmy Page, who he has also ranked on many a time… I just think he is not afraid to act silly sometimes indeed, when it comes to doing interviews where he is asked about other guitarists… it’s really all there is to that, a risk anyone being interviewed is in the position of either quickly responding, or not responding at all.(hint hint, Ritchie and Ian)

I just don’t understand why someone would point out here that they’re a Blackmore fan, I maintain that we all must certainly be, or we would not be discussing anything here at all.

    Let’s back to part one.

Can someone give me an idea what have we do on a guitar clinic?

Following the years, I’ve read so many times Steve Morse gave a guitar clinic, even wen he’s still on the road with Deep Purple. So again, can somebody explain to me the characteristic or style that Steve Morse have in his preservation as one of the finest guitarist in this world?
Give me detail please, I really want to know technically, not only one word : virtuoso, tapping, etc.

Hey, Jean-Richard. Was Steve singing in that guitar clinic or the microphone was in the wrong place at the time?

Interested to see Steve Morse sing, like Vai and Satriani done.
