He’s good, just taking it easy
Doug Aldrich spoke to BraveWords in an in-depth interview that clears up a lot of confusion about what is going on with the Dead Daisies and Glenn Hughes (TL;DR summary: Corabi wasn’t fired, the reunion with Glenn was supposed to be a one-off that turned to a two-off, and back to one-off).
That’s one of the misunderstandings and misconceptions; Glenn wasn’t coming back to the band. Nobody asked him to be in the band. It was just a one-off. And then it was like, okay, let’s just squeeze one more. We booked it and Glenn was down for it.
Anyway, we had it all set up, and Glenn’s doctor said, ‘Come in for a random checkup.’ They did a test and it came back that he had an issue that is treatable, but it means that he needs to take it easy. He just said to us, ‘Look guys, I can’t commit to this gig now because my doctor said I need to take it easy.’ Glenn deserves to do whatever he wants; he’s earned that. Just like Coverdale. If he decides that he’s retired forever, that’s up to him. If he decides, once he gets this stuff sorted out, that he wants to come back to doing his solo stuff, or whatever he wants to do… he’s good, he’s just taking it easy, following doctor’s orders right now. We’ll be with him, supporting him as family, all along the way throughout this procedure.
