That woman from Tokyo
Deep Purple are about to start this year’s massive tour. The first dates are in Japan, where they met with the positively giddy Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi (who is a huge fan and plays drums herself).
Thanks to David Black, Akemi Ono, steve4422, and maxtext for the heads-up.

Unauthorized copying, while sometimes necessary, is never as good as the real thing
Very very sweet!
Saw it at Ian’s fb page.
I am impressed of our band 💜
April 10th, 2026 at 19:13Jawohl, drummer god, endlich mal sagt es jemand!
Could watch this all day!
April 10th, 2026 at 20:33Wonderful! 🙂 They must be very proud, and they should be!
April 10th, 2026 at 21:11Ehre, wem Ehre gebührt.
”You are my God.’ Lucky Ian Paice. And well deserved. Most of us might not get to hear that too often. But then again we may be lousy drummers….

Apparently she said she wished Ritchie was there as she loves Burn …and often has some sort of fun playing it with her husband….don’t know how that would have gone down ! Lol
I thought this was a real heartwarming moment, this lady is highly respected the world over and what a great memory and accolade for the band to have as they begin to naturally wind things down
April 10th, 2026 at 23:12wow I haven’t seen Roger without a hat or bandana since the RRHOF or the Metallica awards show he did with Paicey!
I would add that in dark times like these, seeing a prime minister do something like this, who gives importance to music and emotion by warmly welcoming our heroes, highlights how much better Japan is than the countries and presidents who are killing the world.
April 10th, 2026 at 23:45Id love to see Sanae Takaichi get up on stage and drum with Ian Paice
April 11th, 2026 at 00:07The visit was mentioned on BBC radio news! I nearly fell off my chair.
April 11th, 2026 at 06:55I showed this to my nephew who lives in Japan, and he mentioned that Nissan has a minivan called Highway Star.
https://satjapan.com/new-cars/mk_nissan/md_elgrand/nissan-elgrand-350highway-star-8-seater
It has body control (for 8 passengers) and everything…I love it! I need it!
April 11th, 2026 at 07:26We had better keep an eye on Karin. That pair of drumsticks could go missing.
April 11th, 2026 at 09:57It made the BBC Radio 4 news here in the UK. All but a minute long; commentary, audio from the event, mention of the tour and MiJ, and a bit of Smoke.
April 11th, 2026 at 11:19Max, thinking about it, isn’t the phrase/greeting “You are my god!” something any good and upstanding husband should hear from his wife at least once a day? Just sayin’.
Now I wanna move to Asia.
April 11th, 2026 at 11:28I’m impatiently waiting for the set list, maybe it will end with Hush and Black Night
April 11th, 2026 at 12:19Yesterday at the 8 o’clock news this nice meeting was shown. I was happily surprised.

April 11th, 2026 at 15:58I am especially proud how well Paice-san, Gillan-san, Glover-san, Airey-san and McBride-san conducted themselves in the presence of her Excellency the Prime Minister, apparently no mention of Pearl Harbor was made and no ethnic penchant for sneak attacks alleged. Of late, not all celebrities have been as discreet regarding the subject in her presence.

April 11th, 2026 at 17:04That is a real treat to see, the P.M. no less!, and seems to be a genuine fan! That’s a classy gesture for the band and fans around the world. (I agree Fla76, could use a bit more of that sort of thing these days from our fearful leaders) I am very grateful and excited the tour has expanded to include the states. Thanks to the band and everyone involved in making this tour possible.

Hello Karin,
A very happy birthday to you!🥳👏
Just two days later than Simon McBride and nine days later than my daughter.
April 12th, 2026 at 10:43Btw, my birthday is 5 days before the birthday of your great idol😉
“Yes MacGregor, I am afraid the drumstick will never come my way 😭😭😭”
Who said? Your journey has not yet found its conclusion, halfling …

April 12th, 2026 at 13:08@28
Thank you Beate 🤗
Oh congratulations with your daughter ❤️
And you have the 14th of August 😃
Are we the same age then?
Well who cares to be honest! We are feeling young and delightful when we listen to Purple 😍
April 12th, 2026 at 15:26@29
Thank you Uwe 🤗❤️
14 you say? My mental age? 😁
I am happy to be your baby sis ☺️🥰

Uwe! I listen every single day….
But I really love Rock’n’Roll, which this is not! AT ALL
But don’t call me a quitter. Because I’m not 😄

But what if I’m not alive next year? 😱 oh horror!

I had no idea that Sweet had covered this song. Thanks, I enjoyed it…
If you’ve never seen the movie, I strongly recommend it. One of Sinatra’s better performances as an actor.
April 15th, 2026 at 10:53@40
Well Uwe, whaddaya think I would do?😁
Cannot play the drums with one stick…
I’m fast at playing but not that fast 😃
And I have always publicly admitted my admiration for Sweet’s drummer, who died way too soon.
Look at the young man here:

Russ what’s the matter with you! 😁
You don’t know Extreme, have know admiration for this guitarist:
And please listen through, he is – in my head – close to RB and SMcB!
(And no! Has absolutely nothing to do with his appearance! I am capable to distinguish between a solid talent and a somewhat cute look, and I liked his playing way before I saw them at yt 😊)

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I meant: had NO (not ‘know’)
So sorry…. Lack of sleep and coffee…..
April 16th, 2026 at 18:59Mick Tucker = Holzhacker (that even rhymes in German).
If there was one thing that always sounded undeniably teenybopper Glam Rock in Sweet, then it was Mick’s mechanical drumming, chop chop wood alright.
https://youtu.be/xCnj4eaRYVI
It was a drum sound and style used on nearly all of Glam Rock, heavily influenced by the Glitter Band’s double drums.
https://youtu.be/8OJ01psE6wc
Of course the fact that Phil Wainman, the Sweet’s producer up to 1974, was a drummer (he had experimented with two drum sets recorded sounds as early as the 60s) also had something to do with it.
Mick Tucker never sounded relaxed or smooth to me, always angular and hamfisted, every drum break drawing by numbers and without finesse.
Here’s another example of that type of drumming, shortly before it went out of style:
https://youtu.be/GUpGRXT18R8
I mean it’s good fun, has its place and all that, but it is hardly Steve Gadd, is it?
https://youtu.be/PgkfNSGXLZw
I like bounce and swing in drumming, these concepts were alien to Mick Tucker’s playing..

April 16th, 2026 at 21:34@45
Ich werde mich daran erinnern, Uwe 😃
Funny thing happened today:
I was out looking for another car. Ended up at this car dealer.
Well, a tall (9 feet 4”) man came along and looked down on me (in more than one way I have to say 😝).
I got to test drive a car, came back, and he said: ‘what does the little lady think’: people who know me personally know that I really don’t appreciate being talked to like that, so I said: bring me a cup of coffee, which he did! 😄
We talked, he asked about my old car, because the delivery date for a new one is 3 months so he wanted to know how much more I would be driving ☺️
I said: ‘well I’m actually going on a longer drive but in October where I’m going to Copenhagen to see Deep Purple and the week after I’m going to Hamburg to see, well, Deep Purple again!’
I tell you, his attitude changed completely 😁
– ‘Ohh you like Deep Purple?’
– ‘no I like to breathe, I love Deep Purple’ – and suddenly I had a new friend! 😂
Told me he had been to a concert with Guns’n’Roses, which btw were awful according to him. But maybe he ought to come to Copenhagen ☺️
I told him about the new album we’re awaiting and he was all smiles!
So in more than one way it can make a whole difference to adore Purple!
And yes! I still like Mick Tucker’s way 😃
And yes I still struggle with IGB… and no, I’m not a quitter….
April 17th, 2026 at 19:03The drum stick isn’t going away anytime soon, liebe Karin, your process of atonement may continue unabatedly at its own pace … 🤗
For what Sweet strived for, Mick Tucker was the right drummer. And he did make quite a journey with them, from Bubble Gum like Co-Co to Glam Rock like Teenage Rampage to Hard Rock like Lies In Your Eyes to 10cc’esque art pop like Love Is Like Oxygen.
What a shameless flirt at car dealerships you are!
April 19th, 2026 at 11:45@47
“process of atonement” -you say Uwe.
Oh my 🫣
Anton is looking at me like he thinks: ‘mum what are you doing to me’ when I listen to IGB. EVEN THOUGH I listen in my overear headphones 😵💫
My coffee intake has risen to extreme levels….
Nightmares have increased….
I am sweating excessively….
I wonder if I should take up drinking, but then I roll around and hurt myself, so I’ve dropped that idea!
Uwe, dear German lawyer extravaganza – I don’t know what to do!
On one hand I truly like Ian’s voice, I really really do.
On the other hand I also really really like rock.
I’m treating myself in my clinic but even my thousands of remedies cannot make my ears adjusted to this music 😑
But since you have given me extra time, I will continue.
And I did not flirt, and indeed not shamelessly!🙄
April 21st, 2026 at 08:10We agreed on Purple’s lovely music ☺️
@47
Uwe, listen to me!
Five moons – now I get it!
If I listen to IGB with Deep Purple or Gillan as my starting point, then my mind goes 🤯💥
But then it dawned on me: if I listen to this particular song with Beatles as my starting point, then it suddenly makes sense…
At least ‘Five Moons’ is as peculiar and futuristic as some of the songs from especially John Lennon’s hand.
Allow me to make a comparison:
IGB, Five Moons:
https://youtu.be/-eMrDNoyNUA?is=8mK-qbj72dnzTgeN
Beatles, I am the walrus:
https://youtu.be/Og-yjQGzIS8?is=BIUhqZ-5MKdIH3UX
For a proper research I googled this and apparently no one among the living agrees with me, but in my head it makes perfect sense 😊
Beatles, at least at that moment in time, were quite experimental, and so was IGB, I guess.
I know I’ll survive this experiment but maybe I will become someone else! 😫
So – am I done? Have I finally acquired the rights to this coveted and highly praised drumstick?
Sometimes a girlie (or a mature woman ☺️) just needs to be entertained with a lovely song and some interesting lyrics, without burning off the last brain cells.
Lyrics like:
“Dance, dance, if you do that dance
I’m gonna let you join my one-man band
Be my doll, be my baby doll
Come get to know me like the back of your hand
I like the name hanging on that chain
I like the way you do the push and the shove
You can blow my mind if you’re that way inclined
All I know is that you fell from above.”
https://youtu.be/lcsOURZOp7g?is=89-DPMGHT2SvNLjZ
Or this cutie:
“So far away from the garden we love
She is what moves in the soul of a dove
Soon I shall see just how black was my night
When we’re alone in her city of light
Rising from the neon gloom
Shining like a crazy moon
Yeah, she turns me on like a fire, oh
I get high”
https://youtu.be/uIaXva9akfs?is=9LBgwY5hahn-PKnk
Or even when Ian gets a bit more philosophical:
https://youtu.be/jgd4qN0sVCE?is=TnvPOo69U8qGMvZ0
“All day
Sitting alone in my room
Waiting for no-one to call me
Lost in a dream of my own
I’m drawn by this obsession
With a tantalising vision
Of a swirling robe
I have one eye to Morocco
By the time I reach tomorrow
I’ll be on that road”
Ian once said as he got older he became more philosophical in his lyrics. So I guess it will hit me too one day, so far I prefer and love proper rock 😃
https://youtu.be/eNpO3snVu6M?is=4JXPHel9xpHlpOze
And please note it isn’t even Ian singing….
However this fine gentleman has made some lovely songs I like to listen to now and then:
https://youtu.be/MMFj8uDubsE?is=LE8RJZ7-lu_J3H_M
So – am I done?
April 21st, 2026 at 12:03@49- step away from the IGB for a while Karin. That can help in my experience with certain music. Time ‘may’ help you being able to ‘get’ into some of it. The trouble I have is simple, Ian Gillan’s vocal I know rather well from the last 50 years. Well it was less than that decades ago when I heard the IGB for the first time. But we do get use to and enjoy a particular way with singers, that is why we like it. When that changes and sounds ‘forced’ and out of ‘sync’ it automatically sounds weird, not right and bizarre. Anyway, as I joked recently it took me forty years or more and even then there are songs I still do not like. It is his vocal delivery. I enjoy the music itself. Have you got forty years, he he he he. Seriously don’t give yourself a headache or anything trying to listen all the time. Cheers.
April 22nd, 2026 at 07:05@50
Thank you MacGregor!
Well, that is a wonderful advice 😃
And who am I kidding anyway: that drumstick stays in Germany, I’m pretty sure I never will be able to fulfil our dear lawyer’s demands anyway….
I have loved Purple for so many years and by that of course Ian’s voice.
But now I appreciate David Coverdale and Joe Lynn Turner (still struggle with Glenn Hughes, but not when he is duetting with David C)
I guess a lot of brains are wired to prefer some versions of music over others.
And I really never liked jazz fusion!
However not thinking in Purple terms, it helped me a lot to digest IGB.
Instead of risking more blame and eye roll from my little doglet, I will instead take a walk in the wonderful weather that finally have arrived in my country 😊
April 22nd, 2026 at 13:17“So – am I done?”
Liebe Novice Carina,
https://nick-davis.com/nunstoryrev.jpg
nothing dignifies our sinful mortal coil more than patience. You have taken a great first step, but we said five favorite songs, not just one to gain entrance into the Holy Order of the Sisters of IGB. To spur you on in your quest for immaculate realization: The Ian Paice drum stick/relic is now – figuratively speaking – already approaching Flensburg!
Father Uwe

April 22nd, 2026 at 15:01I just thought about the forty years of IGB listening for Karin. That means she will be ninety nine. Well, what a way to celebrate the century, holding up the IGB albums and THAT drumstick and enthusiastically proclaiming, ‘I did it, I did it’. How many people get to celebrate turning one hundred that way in their life. Something to look forward to for you Karin. None of us will be around to witness this momentous occasion though. But it is the personal journey that counts and then travelling onto Valhalla with that box set and THAT drumstick. Odin will be pleased. Hopefully! Cheers.
April 22nd, 2026 at 15:57@52
Did we agree on five (5!) songs?
Well, ok!
How I wish I could do a Superman (flying around the world apparently in the opposite direction and turn back time) being 13 like Max, lying on my bed and listening to this IGB for the first time, and be amazed.
https://youtube.com/shorts/RWdnYdjCeWI?is=ezukKiVsbB0Pt1-2
Anton has almost just forgiven me for ‘Five moons’, but I will try to listen to four more songs then ☺️
(And all this so that you Uwe, can call yourself a great influencer 😃)
April 23rd, 2026 at 03:59@53
99 yo you say?
Why shouldn’t you all be here?!
Oh I can imagine our conversations at that time 😁
– None of us remember anything and we’re being welcomed and mocked by Uwe on an hourly basis 😃 (in your own sweet way Uwe☺️)
– Still discussing if Steve Morse ever got an apology from the band…
– Still arguing which of the ‘Marks’ are the best…
– Me still drooling over Ian’s voice
And so on and so forth 😃
And the admin guys! Svante will be ‘Duh-ing’ now and then, and Nick will post the same videos over and over because none of us remember ever seeing them before 😄
Purple people are the best 🥳
Cheers right back at ya!
April 23rd, 2026 at 04:09🤗
“(And all this so that you Uwe, can call yourself a great influencer 😃)”
No need to mince words, Karin, you can call me “coercive seducer”! I’m grooming you … 😂

April 23rd, 2026 at 22:49Uwe the ‘manipulator’ sounds just about right, don’t we think ladies and gentlemen, he he he. Cheers.
April 23rd, 2026 at 22:57@56
Well Uwe, unless you’re hired from the record company and have promised them bigger sales, I have to tell you: I have bought the boxset (sans autograph I am sad to sad – even though the invoice claimed there would be an autograph….) 😊
…and I’m pretty sure I don’t buy any more IGB records….
But this weekend is sat aside to getting more into this glorious jazz fusion music 🤩
April 24th, 2026 at 07:57My Woman from Randers have you checked whether there is not an autograph card slipped into your boxed set that replicates the slip-on cover a bit smaller and has the signature of your St. Ian in the right hand bottom corner, in silver, and not much larger than two-and-half cm, i.e. not of TRUMPian scale? For once, you must search methodically and keep your female excitement at bay!
What further IGB material should you wish to procure, you now have everything!
In hindsight, had I been IGB’s A&R man, I would have done things quite a bit differently. I wouldn’t have named them “Ian Gillan Band” for one thing because that name – besides being lazy – was bound to raise expectations the band could and did not want to fullfil. And I wouldn’t have paired them with Hard Rock bands on tour but with Prog and Fusion outfits. A gig at the Montreux Jazz Festival for instance – before an appreciative adult audience open for new things. The way IGB was marketed was all wrong and careless.
April 24th, 2026 at 14:59Won’t you likely fossilize, Russ, muscle shirt and all?
April 24th, 2026 at 19:33@57
Russ thanks for the John Mellencamp tune 😊🙏🏼
“Even Uwe…” – Russ, Uwe is the icing on the cake 😃
(And no I’m not saying that to butter him up re some drumstick relic 😄)
Tsk tsk tsk, I’m not that kind of woman! ☝🏼
April 24th, 2026 at 23:59@58
MacGregor, I honestly think he has my best interests at heart 😇
Not everyone would care so much to broaden my musical horizon! 😃
And the “grooming” thing, isn’t that something to do with hair? I could use a new do 😆
April 25th, 2026 at 00:04@60
Yes my German chief of justice, I have checked everything thoroughly, several times 😃
No autograph at all!
I felt like when I was a kid trying to steam up the love letters my brothers got from their girlfriends 😁
“I wouldn’t have named them “Ian Gillan Band” for one thing because that name – besides being lazy – was bound to raise expectations the band could and did not want to fullfil.”
– oh you’re right about that!
Naturally I expected some decent rock, and oh boy did I get disappointed 😢
But that’s water under the bridge…
Now it’s 2.30 at night, I’m gathering my courage to wake up bright eyed and bushy tailed in a few hours, taking in the exciting world of jazz fusion!
Have a lovely weekend everybody 😃
April 25th, 2026 at 00:26And may the hot, strong and delicious coffee be with you all 🤗
@61
Maybe in 100,000 years or so I’ll look like this mouse that was psuedomorphed by copper minerals: http://old.fmm.ru/specimensen/mouseen.htm
April 25th, 2026 at 02:33@45
Uwe you and I see so differently on the various drummers! 😊
I like Mick Tucker because in Sweet, to me at least, he suited perfectly.
Would he have been interesting in the Paul Simon ‘50 ways to leave your lover’? Oh yes he would have been interesting 😄 but certainly not a very good choice 😁
But in Sweet he was this breath of fresh air, he made the over-sweetener in Sweet bearable, and when Sweet released their inner rock kids, he was in his right element ☺️
Paul Simon’s “50 ways to…” is a very important tune for me, because PS’s voice is so gentle here, but the underlying feel is more.. oh what is word? Dangerous maybe? I really like the match 😊
The tune with Johnny Wakelin, weird but have never heard that before!
Was he a one-hit wonder?
Oh he made this too:
https://youtu.be/4Y7VJ7PH7Pc?is=Mry7yEX9r9yMzQ54
Never heard that before either 😁 (and I guess my hard-rocking radar took my attention away, phew 😮💨)
To sum up:
April 25th, 2026 at 05:23Mick Tucker could indeed not play in every band, but with Sweet he fitted perfectly!
But you lured me to be let astray: it isn’t his drumming I wanna copy, it’s his drumstick twirling!
Let’s see it one more time 🤩
https://youtu.be/2v1Jd_XYpqk?is=s1zoxrtGriRezHHW
@60
Uwe, listen to and watch this:
https://youtube.com/shorts/q2c0EhH-fsk?is=W2CjJubTYL2uYuSF
And thank you 🙏🏼
Now I have two autographs from my Sct Ian 😁
April 25th, 2026 at 06:17Thanks for the cute message, Karin, no worries, I didn’t find Ian’s autograph in my set at first either (then prematurely complained about it here to then only realize my mistake later and hastily make amends … 😳). Your version of Ian’s signature is btw much larger than the one I got, even if he smeared the “Ian” as an “L”-lookalike a little on yours. He was probably a little nervous knowing it would go to you: I mean who wouldn’t? 🤗
(And no I’m not saying that to butter him up re some drumstick relic 😄)
Who says I would mind a little female deception? I have always held that faked female orgasms are ok with me as long as they are performed with sincere devotion to the subject matter! 😇
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/1sf_JkSAy4Y
It’s called method acting I think.
April 25th, 2026 at 13:46It was Andy Scott who once said:
Mick always idolized Ian Paice and wanted to drum like him. And we’d go: “Mick, Paice is great, but your style is nothing like him! You’re an excellent drummer, but you’re much more like John Bonham, what is wrong with that?”
Tucker’s style sure had a lot to do with Sweet sounding like they did. And he worked hard at developing his drumming.

I actually also hear strong parallels to Cozy Powell, but then I guess it is by now well-known here that I do not necessarily deem that a good thing, I’ve never been a fan of heavy-handed drumming, I can’t help it!

Mick just played with Sweet, didn’t he? Or mostly played with them…
Whereas Cosy Powell appeared with many hard rocking bands 😊
Uwe I can’t help it either, I love the heavy handed drumming, as you put it.
Not that the excellent drummer you mentioned with Paul Simon and “50 ways to leave your lover” isn’t fantastic, because indeed he is. But I like both types of drummers. At the right place non-sophisticated drumming is liberating 😊
Here’s Steve Gadd as a 12 yo prodigy 😃

All the different styles are welcome with me ☺️😉

Aww thank you Uwe:
“He was probably a little nervous knowing it would go to you: I mean who wouldn’t? 🤗”
– I am sad to say though that the great man has absolutely no idea whatsoever about this weird female from Denmark!
And that’s ok of course, but oh I would love indeed to drink a cup of coffee with him, and tell him how much he and Purple has meant in my life.
But I guess he has heard it all so many times…
And then you mention one of my favourite female actresses 😁
Yes she was amazing in ‘When Harry met Sally’ but certainly also in ‘French Kiss’ with Kevin Kline 😃
The female deception, as you like to put it, well Uwe, shouldn’t we just let this pass ☺️
Let me instead link to this fun loving band:

Basically, Mick only played with Sweet once he co-founded them as Sweet Shop in the late 60s, but before that he drummed with Wainwright’s Gentlemen who also at one time had a singer you adore in their ranks, Karin …

“Uwe is the icing on the cake… ”
Sometimes that cake has a hair or a booger on it. He can be that as well. But I like him… because, at times, I can be the that way too.
Glad you enjoyed the John Melonhead tune… he’s a great songwriter, every bit as good a your crush, but in a different way.
April 26th, 2026 at 08:34@72
😁 yes Uwe, I know about Wainwright’s Gentlemen, I just so enjoy listening to you explain about Ian’s whereabouts!
I have been listening to IGB this weekend….
And now I don’t have anymore time for shenanigans like that because tonight I’m going to see Francis Rossi!
Really looking forward to see the former, so proud ponytail-owner!
Schüssel! 😊 (a pendant to MacGregor’s Cheers 😃or at least I hope that. At Sesamstraße there weren’t too many any cheers in German.)

Oh no no no Russ! Not that kind of cakes…. Proper cakes with proper icing, well, like these kinds:

😁
And then I have to make a citizen’s arrest: no one in this big beautiful world is as good as Ian when it comes to poetry!
The way this man plays with words is blowing my mind on a daily basis 🤩
So please stop bringing Ian down 😝
Well, as I usually do: forgive and forget 😊
This band has made a lot of good songs too, this is so nice (in my head…)

Have come to love his voice very much.
@76
I wasn’t putting down Saint Ian. John Mellencamp (I’m not talking so much about his pop stuff from the early 80’s) is a great songwriter in his own way but his style and subject matter are completely different than Ian’s. It’s like trying to trying to compare Laphroaig to Prunier; they’re both equally as good but totally different.
RE: cakes… That’s clever but I would be more impressed if the second & the fifth cakes in your video were anatomically correct. I would expect them to look like muscle & bone on the inside. That’s realism. Also, if it came down to it, I would rather eat a dozen Bluepoints than a cake that looked like them. I don’t have a very big sweet tooth. But I like this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5IDL-LgApk

Yeah ok Russ, but did you see the hairs on the hairbrush? 😝😁
April 27th, 2026 at 11:11From experience: Not really difficult to remove should they get caught in one’s teeth.
I know, I know, Yanks have no idea what I’m talking about.
April 27th, 2026 at 15:37@78
That’s the first thing that I noticed. They look yummy!!!
April 27th, 2026 at 21:00As a long time Deep Purple Fan and someone that will be attending the Mansfield Massachusetts Show August 13, I hope they add a couple of songs that were & are still very popular in the US, Perfect Strangers, & Knocking at your Backdoor, also they also seemed to abandoned Woman from Tokyo too in their past tours. I mean, let’s face it, nobody is getting any younger, I don’t know how many tours they have left in them, why not give the people what they want, the Hits!
April 27th, 2026 at 22:12Ever since they changed the key of Perfect Strangers to accomodate Ian, but retained the original keyboard intro key, forcing Don to make this incredibly awkward, unelegant key change when the real song starts, the song has suffered greatly in my ears. Why they didn’t change the key of the organ intro as well is beyond me.
I was actually relieved when they retired the song just because of that.

“Yanks have no idea what I’m talking about.”
I know exactly what you mean…
April 28th, 2026 at 07:23Sorry, I didn’t know about your Appalachian heritage!
