    Uwe Hornung says:

Well, I went notwithstanding my sometimes not so appreciative comments about Purpendicular, it was just too close to where I live (20 minute drive), I would have felt guilty.

The 01:30h set featured (I can’t vouch for the exact sequence)

    Burn
    Might Just Take Your Life
Walking in the Shadow of the Blues
    Bad Attitude
    You Keep On Moving
    Fool For Your Loving
    Ain’t No Love
No One Gets Out Alive (original by Purpendicular, bit reminiscent of Rosa’s Cantina in rhythm)
    Hush
Pictured Within instrumental (= Alessandro’s keyboard solo)
    Perfect Strangers
Fever (Elvis! liebe Karin 😱…) as an intro to
Black Night (with various other shuffle covers thrown in)
    SOTW

    Stormbringer as an encore

So that makes 3x Mk III, 3x Whitesnake, 1x Mk I, 1x Mk IV, 1x Purpendicular and only 4x Mk II, quite a varied set then.

Little Ian’s son-in-law Nick Fyffe played bass, by nature a finger player, he has now taken up playing some songs with a pick, likely because Daddy-in-law told him that pick sound bass belongs to DP. He’s not really a pick player though and actually sounds better and more forceful when playing with his fingers. Of course he sounds nothing like Nick Simper, Roger Glover, Glenn Hughes or Neil Murray even when he plays their parts.

Alessandro on keyboards has gained quite a bit of confidence and is invaluable on the Mk III and IV stuff because he does excellent Glenn Hughes impressions vocally.

The guiarist plays nicely in a 70s style.

Ian’s drum set was a little smaller than with Purple, less toms. I was upfront, yet watching from the side, so I had a good view of his bass drum work which is always a joy for me to hear and see.

Robby does DC better than he does IG.
