Roger Glover’s master class

The accidentally on purpose freshly baked Reverend (who will be 102 years old next year) preaches the good word of music at the London Bass Guitar Show on March 1. Do yourself a favour — set aside 40 minutes and watch the whole thing. There’s a little prize at the end 😉

For the impatient: Answering the last question, Roger said that the band will do the next album “fairly quickly”. They hope to have a writing session this summer and back to Nashville at the end of the year or early next year.

Thanks to TC Electronics for filming (and posting) it and to Andrey Gusenkov for bringing it to your attention.

As Gillan already said in this interview:

“We got some taste for it at the moment.”

I really enjoyed the second half of Glover talking about all things, including Purple & Rainbow! I really really really enjoyed the piece where he says ‘the trick is to steal & don’t get caught’! ‘No music is original, it has all been before’, or something along those lines! Meaning the contemporary ‘rock or pop’ music thing I presume!
Certain ‘fans’ here on this site a while back were slagging Blackmore for ‘stealing’ & ‘borrowing’ or what ever it is called! Are they going to slag off Glover also? As myself & a few others stated back then in regards to the absurd one eyed comments, it wasn’t ONLY Blackmore doing this dastardly deed! Hmmmmmmmmmmm! Poor old Blackers, he seems to get the blame for many things, why? Well we know why don’t we! Cheers.

Love his line about playing with Purple…. “find 3 great musicians and tag along”.

Again, one the most humble and witty orators in the biz. Can’t get enough of his jargon. Hard to imagine to my surprise that he and Gillan both have made point blank statements regarding going right back in the studio for another album. Truly a dream come true. Plus Don Airey stated a while back in an interview that he hoped to don another one soon. 10 to 12 more Deep Purple songs to add to the listening library? AWWWWWWEEEESSSSSOOOME!!

See ya in Biloxi Roger & Co.!!
