Reissue of the RAH album(!)
Hold on to your wallets, people! This must be a new record in the good old business practise of "reissue an album as many times as possible with as few changes as possible but still so much diference that people will buy the new version". The DPAS reports:
"DEEP PURPLE / ROYAL ALBERT HALL 2CD set (Eagle)
This is being reissued in October in a revised format to tie in with the European Orchestral dates. The video track is being dropped, Steve Morse's missing number is reinstated. As a bonus the CD also has a computer screen saver programme featuring pictures from the show. The first pressing run will have a numbered slip case and a reproduction of the tour poster.
This edition will replace the exisiting version and price remains the same."
Thanks to the DPAS for the information.

There is still a lengthy review with pictures at the DPAS site.
Thanks to the DPAS for the information.

WDWTWA release date

Tony Ashton Testimonial Concert
Tony Ashton will be known to most Deep Purple fans for his involvement with the "Paice, Ashton, Lord" project, but to music fans in general everything from The Remo Four to most recently playing the Hell Blues Festival in a fetching pair of pyjamas.
Tony's been a little off colour recently, so a bunch of friends decided to give him a party to celebrate his recovery and to recognise his contribution to music above and beyond the call of duty free. Among a lot of other things there will be an auction featuring lots of great stuff including several signed cymbals donated by Ian Paice.
The party takes place at Abbey Road Studios on the 16th June 2000 and you are invited, along with Pete York, Jon Lord, Ian Paice, Chris Barber, Eddie Hardin, Zoot Money, Bernie Marsden, Micky Moody, John Entwhistle, Zac Starkey, ace auctioneer Joe Brown (yes, he is related to Sam) and many, many others.
Space is limited and admission is strictly by ticket only. So, if you'd like to join us please send at least £30 per ticket and an s.a.e to:
