Two Deep Purple concerts recorded for TV
The gig in Moscow and one of the shows in Sofia were recorded for TV broadcasts so avid traders might get a chance to see and hear this for themselves in a while. The Moscow concert will be shown on Russian tv in January 1999. The broadcast time of Bulgarian TV recording is unknown to us at the moment.

News from RPM Records
Purple records will re-release Jon Lord's Sarabande (PUR 305) in digitally remastered form on Jan 18th - they can be ordered from then through the RPM web-site for now, although we plana separate Purple records site in the near future, to keep it separate from RPM.
Also coming is Curtiss Maldoon "Serephyn - the definitive collection", which includes a version of Madonna's "Ray of Light"!
Both include RPM's usual comprehensive sleeve notes.
"Days may come" is still undergoing (silly) legally wrangles, although RPM anticipate a result some time next year. It's worth the wait!
(Thanks to Nick Robinson.)

Deep Purple on the cover of Italian record collector's magazine
Alessandro Pomponi reports:
"The Italian Record Collectors magazine, called RARO! has just published (November issue), a feature on Deep Purple regarding Italian 7" singles discography. The magazine sports a wonderful Deep Purple cover shot live in Roma! Unfortunately the Deep Purple cover is only a limited edition of 200 copies and it costs double price i.e. 15,000 (about USA $10 or UK GBP 5.50) + P&P. Standard cover sold by newsagents has Mark Knopfler on cover."
Alessandro suggest you mail him if you have more questions about the magazine.

Message from Jon Lord
"I learned today from Bruce [Payne, manager] and EMI that, for the moment, Germany is the only territory where PW is released - contrary to what I had understood to be the case. My apologies for unintentionally misleading you. The new info is that other territories will be releasing on January 15th, (that's 1999 by the way, :-) - for those of you who have made mention of the length of time that tends to elapse between my non-Purple music releases) and I as yet do not know how "worldwide" that'll be. I hope this will clear up any of the misunderstandings, and thank you very much for the interest. (And the Aintree Iron.) Its a collection of music that came direct from the heart - which I tend to wear on my sleeve - with no real thoughts of how people might receive it or how it would be perceived in the light of my previous efforts, or indeed in the light of my being a Hammond organist in the Purps; but I trust it will speak to you in moments of quiet, contemplation and solitude.
God bless
Regards
Jon"
