    With any luck they will inject some new feeling (and more Strat) to this one. I always buy ’em though!

    Some are just tired of their ongoing product of romanticism = it’s about their fantasies, not his ultimate fan bases thing. It’s for those who can’t separate the person from the work because of the person’s foundation of work.

    I don’t know why, but I have found the music of B’sN quite boring. Is there something wrong with me? I used to think that Ritchie is the best guitar player in the universe. But now I feel he’s not doing anything interesting or exciting. I must be wrong. Is he the Francis Goya (remember, anyone?) of the 2010’s? Cannot be.

    Does that mean RB is now available for JLT’s fantasy Rainbow re-union?

    I have collected all of Blackmore`s recorded material from the past 53 years and some of his finest playing is found on those BN albums, give listen to any of the instrumentals and then there are tunes like “The Storm” or “Fires at Midnight” etc … spectacular by anyone`s measure

    LRT says:

    Alerickson I bet you haven’t collected it all, first you have to know of it all. I guarantee there are many records you do not have. Perhaps you may have heard some you don’t have, but that is not collecting it. Got a grand a piece to lay down for some early 45s alone?

    Scoot says:

    What is that thing beneath Ritchies moustache? Is that a smile? There’s no smiles on Ritchie!!!

    Seriously, they release music on a regular basis, they tour, the people show up and enjoy themselves. If he’s happy, we should be happy. It’s the right and respectful thing to do.

    JLT claims a Rainbowreunion will happen this year!?! Wouldn’t surprise me if it did, but it would surprise me if JLT would be a part of it since he’s such a freakin’ MOTORMOUTH!!!! A Rainbow reunion with the 90’s line up, now that would be quite interesting

    The first one was new, fresh, exciting and innocent. From there on it becaming boring, boring, boring. With a few decent tracks (some more than decent), but overall boring, boring, boring.

    By collecting all the recorded material I don’t mean all the original recordings, I am referring to everything from vinyl to cd collections etc that incorporate tracks coming from the Joe Meek days, Lord Sutch,Heinz, the Outlaws and so on….and that is of the known recordings listed on this Site and others. This is something I started back in 68 when I purchased my first Purple album ….

    Tracy(Zero the Hero)Heyder says:

    To TMIB, Have a truly incredible 70th. You are an inspiration. I hit 60 in August and though I don’t feel it, I am truly inspired by you and your continuation of Keeping it Real in your own way. That has always been my way. It’s a ‘Hard Road’ sometimes but it maintains our conviction and integrity. A truly lonely yet rewarding path. As much as I miss you doing Rock, I enjoy your BN stuff. My Birthday wish is that you figure out a way to do BOTH.

    Ch-BeerZ to you Sir Ritchie

    Jeff Summers says:

    @ 17 nupsi59… Are you seriously comparing Candy’s voice to Maggie Reilly’s?!!!!

  22. 22
    Anthony says:

    @19 Yes indeed and this seems to have been well forgotten by the folks here at The Highway Star. By the way Ritchie was an integral part of Deep Purple and Rainbow!

  23. 23
    MacGregor says:

    I think of Blackmore’s birthday every year, as it is the same day as my late mother’s. But I don’t have a problem with it not being specifically mentioned here at this site. Blackmore is a low key guy anyway.
    Jeff @ 21 – I don’t think nupsi59 was comparing them at all, well at least i hope he wasn’t! Probably just mentioning the Oldfield / Reilly combination, as it was a very good one indeed!.
    Mike Oldfield is truly one of the great composers, a wonderful musician who works with other superb musicians! Cheers.

  24. 24
    nupsi59 says:

    @21 Jeff Summers:

    Not at all, a voice itself is unique.

    I meant, when you like Oldfield’s music in that period you can’t ignore BN’s tunes…

    Happy Birthday Mr. Blackmore… and have a nice Day!

    nupsi59 says:

    @23 MacGregor:

    You got it!

    “It’s a l l music!” (Ian Gillan on German TV in the late 90s)

    Have a nice Day!
