El concierto fantastico

Deep Purple live at Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid (Madrid, Spain 2017-07-03)

Absolutely fantastic show in Madrid. The Spanish audience really loved the band, and showed it. Band started with Time for Bedlam going straight into Fireball, then Bloodsucker and after that Strange Kinda Woman. All in a row without breaks. What a start for a concierto! Muy bueno! Fenomenal! Four songs from the new album were played: Bedlam, Johnny’s Band, Surprising, and Bird of Prey. A lot of old songs, the running order of which I don’t remember right now, but Highway Star was dropped from the set. Lazy, Space Truckin and SOTW were played from Machine Head. And they were real crowd pleasers. Smiling faces eveywhere. Hands in the air. The band were in a very good mood. Hell to Pay and Uncommon Man from Now What?! Peter Gunn, Hush, and Black Night ended the evening as encores. Great show. Will not ever forget. Everybody was having a good time in Madrid! Will they ever play here again? Don’t know. But Madrid would love it. Madrid dice muchos gracias amigos.

I wonder if Ronnie Romero attended the concert?!… Sweet child in time… you’ll see the line… the line that’s drawn between… the good rock bands!.
    Smiles to ya!.

Gran espectáculo, merecieron la pena los 1000 km en coche para la despedida de Deep Purple de España, Gracias por todos estos años.

Ronnie Romero is not a Deep Purple musician, he is only an imitator hired by Blackmore to make money playing the old songs. You can listen Romero at his band Lords of the Black, an usual heavy metal band like thousands of others, nothing new or interesting there. Romero is one more among thousands of imitators of DP and Rainbow singers around the world,

They played the hymn of the Atletico’s and also the “Canción de la Décima” of Real Madrid, in the Perfect Strangers’s intro. Fantastic concert!!
