Steve supported by himself

Dixie-Dregs_2024_SMB_poster

Dixie Dregs will play eight dates in April, supported by the Steve Morse Band. The mini-tour will start in Nashville, TN, on April 18, 2024, and proceed further south, wrapping up on April 27th in Clearwater, FL. Dregs’ lineup will include Steve Morse, Andy West, Rod Morgenstein, Allen Sloan, with Jordan Rudess on keyboards. No surprises in the opening act: Steve will be joined by the regulars Dave LaRue and Van Romaine.

Tickets go on sale, for the most part, on Friday, January 19, with various presales starting earlier. Check our calendar for full details.

Thanks to stevemorse.com and Blabbermouth for the info.

    Wow,

You don’t see that too often…Two bands on the same night, featuring the same solo-guitarist…Busy indeed !

Lucky the people of the US-of-A are in this instance !

    Peace !

Jordan Rudess on keyboards, should be a good show. I wish they were comming my way.

Interesting to see Jordan Rudess on keyboards. I would have thought Morse may be overdoing it a bit here, but I hope he gets through two gigs in a row ok with his hand & wrist issues. A great band The Dregs are, so much diversity there. Wonderful musicians. Cheers.

    My immediate thoughts exactly.

I do remember reading about Steve Howe doing a double billing with Asia supporting Yes around the 2011/12 era from memory. A fuller tour than this one with Morse & company, however it was a one off tour as expected. Eight gigs for Steve Morse should be ok for him. Cheers.

Dave Pegg playing with Tull and Fairport on the same ticket is the closest I can come!

Just in case I didn’t end up sending my previous post yesterday. Steve Howe did the double bill with Asia supporting Yes around the 2011/2 era from my memory.
@ 4- I do remember Dave Pegg (bass, mandolin & vocals) doing that also with Tull & Fairport, thanks for the reminder. Cheers.

This will be the second time Steve supports himself. I was fortunate to have seen this double bill back in August of 2000. Steve had just broken his right wrist skateboarding with his son Kevin. He wore a cast from his wrist midway to his elbow. He made a cryptic joke about his full grimace of pain from beginning until the end of the night…..

Jordan was a part time member of The Dregs and toured around 1996. I saw the gig at The long gone (:

And now a financial decision perhaps flying south only to potentially find out they will add northeast dates in the ensuing weeks….

    Peace,
    Ted

No idea what happened to my post but firstly standing to correct myself. It was Steve’s left wrist.

And may I now complete my text: Jordan was a part time member of The Dregs and toured around 1996. I saw the gig at The long gone (:

    Peace,
    Ted

Yes I have been reading recently that Jordan Rudess has been associated with The Dregs a few times previously. And Morse breaking his wrist on his right hand, ouch that area of his body has taken some stress over time. Cheers.

His left wrist, oh well that is ok then (just joking). Cheers.
