    Nice!

I won’t post the link because someone probably sent it in by now and it will be up anytime… Ritchie Blackmore joined the William Shatner space themed project involving Ian Paice and others. He recorded David Bowie’s ‘Space Oddity’ with Alan Parsons on keyboard.

    Dae-Won Lee says:

Quite amazing line-up, isn’t it? If it gathered in the 70s, it would be regarded as a super band. : Jon Lord (Deep Purple); Miller Anderson (Keef Hartley Band); Maggie Bell (Stone The Crows); Colin Hodgkinson (Backdoor); Pete York (Hardin and York)

Jon Lord and a Hammond: there isn’t much more that I need for a good night. A crate of beer perhaps.

    Manolis says:

Oh yeah!!! Loved Paice-Ashton-Lord, Sarabande, Pictured within, The Hoochie Coochie Men and now this 🙂

I still believe Ian Gillan is missing his “other” calling in not singing enough blues (hear him on Lonely Avenue, Danger White Men Dancing and with Mihalis Rakintzis…), so if he could join occasionally….

But this is great and could have been done sooner your Hammondness! And let’s hope Who Cares is more than a one-off (Lord and Iommi, who would have thought???).

Now just come to Cyprus, pleeeeease.

@8 Dropping the ball or what? The press release for the William Shatner album will be old by the time the news reaches here. Ritchie plays with Alan Parsons on it.

@ 11 I’m with you on that one, Manolis: IG is a great blues-interpreter & should explore that avenue even more…
maybe that is in the cards for him amongst other things when he retires from the road/from DP, who knows, in my opinion there’s never enough quality blues-based rock/music around.

Hoochie Coochie Men are on constant rotation(Live at The Basement especially)in my household due to my 3,5 year old son really digging ’em & demanding to watch the dvd quite often…’Huutsie Kuutsie Men’, as he pronounces it 🙂 Junior’s got taste!

    Cheers
