February 3rd, 2012 at 11:18The St. John’s setlist was basically the same as their recent European Tour. Outside of the mainstays that you know were going to be highlights, I was pleasantly surprised that an amazing rendition of Fireball made the list. Ian’s voice was better than expected as well; but let’s be realistic, for those of us who saw him in 1972 you can’t expect him to hit or even attempt the highnotes of those day; these are not his Child in Time days. Loved Deep Purples’s 1972 show and loved their 2012 show. Rock on guys, rock on! You are long overdue for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and that needs to be rectified!
February 3rd, 2012 at 16:00I was front row and have about an hour of HD video – I haven’t looked at it yet but the show rocked so it too should be great – can i upload some video’s here or just stills? (BTW, I’d say I have been waiting about 40 years for this show…too long…but it was excellent…thanks to the band, their organization and the promoter)
February 4th, 2012 at 03:18Opening band is Gloryhound from Fall River, Nova Scotia. They are doing the Atlantic Canadian shows, I’m not sure if they are doing the entire tour.
