Sleep well?

joe lynn turner, promo photo for belly of the beast album

In July 2025, Joe Lynn Turner was interviewed in Finland by the Southeast Wreckmetal podcast. The interview, where Joe shares some historical anectotage and his plans for the future, has now been posted on Youtube. For whatever reason, the owner(s) of the video have disabled playback on other sites, so you’ll have to watch it there.

Thanks to Blabbermouth for the heads-up.

Is this safe to watch or is he arguing that Finnland is really a part of Russia? 😎

Not a bad interview. Sounds like his next album will be more AOR/melodic rock which he still does best because his voice is so suited for it. I‘d actually would like to hear him with just an acoustic guitar played by himself and some sparse electric backing, even a bit countryish, hey, he‘s a Yank, they all have it in their blood! 🤠 Fandango had a country/soft rock influence and on his first solo album I really liked this song:

I don’t agree with JLT that S&M album was one of the last good Purple album. That’s ridiculous.
He did a great job with Purple and it is over.
    Stop talking about it.
Some liked him and some did not.
You can’t change that after 30 + years.
He must live with the ones that liked the album, don’t talk about the ones who don’t.

Stuff like “the last great DP album” is always hyperbole. Joe is likely arguing that it was the last one Ritchie actually liked, dissatisfied as he was with TBRO.

But it’s nonsense, plenty of good albums followed in the Morse era and I like =1 too.

    Hello.

I do like humour, especially dark one. Did someone mention Monty Python?

But if you guys just let the world politics alone here, please.

You don´t need to tell us Finns about our neighbour, do you?

So let´s talk about all things music and related here just like we have done. Thanks.

And yes, I was lucky to meet Mr. Turner couple of times, too. We had a pretty long conversation some years ago.

    Be well.

    Well hello Hiza!

    Monty Python you say?!
And I agree: let us let politics and such stay far away from here.

    But back to MP:

Somehow this is exactly how it is to live in Denmark 😃

S&M was one of the last great DP albums?

Oh please Joe – give it a rest and get a reality check
