PTSD from sleeping in a bunk

Steve Morse was interviewed by the Six String Alliance. At over an hour and twenty minutes long, in-depth does not even begin to describe it. Hint: push it full screen to see individual chapters.

In this in-depth interview, legendary guitarist Steve Morse reflects on his personal path, artistic growth, and the drive that keeps him pushing ahead. From reshaping himself through life’s challenges to bringing the Steve Morse Band back together, Steve offers honest insight into his perspective, his music, and where he’s headed next.

Thanks to Steve Morse fan site for the heads-up.

I started to watch this but the live link with Steve from the interviewer is out of sync and keeps stalling. I will try again soon and see if that improves. Cheers.

This is fun. My first post via an inflight WiFi between Helsinki and Amsterdam! Just listened to “Closing Note” from the Rapture upgrade and it’s a fine piece of work in true Morse style. A worthy addition to the purple canon which I’m not sure has been praised elsewhere on here. Cheers.

That was a whole lotta Steve in one go – phew, I listened to it all. Steve’s wholehearted commitment to the processes of writing, playing and recording music is endearing, but an interview like this is perhaps a bit much for people that do not stack home recording magazines in their living room.

I had no idea Steve’s hearing was that damaged.

Steve on Purple’s notorious tea breaks and their debilitating effect on getting something done musically: “I grew addicted to it … to the point of putting milk in my tea!” 😂🤣😂🤣

Note to self: The UK is responsible for many cultural benefits in the world. Diluting tea with milk is – even under a most benevolent gaze – definitely not one of them. Yuck. 😎

PS: Lastly, I have noted with great satisfaction that Steve kept his shoulders covered at all times during the tasking 122 minutes of the interview as well as matching throughout the finish of his guitar to the timeless Robin Hood green

of his age-adequate buttoned T-shirt! Easy on the eye. 😂

    Hello Uwe,
It’s winter – even in Florida and Steve is not on stage!
He even wears a longsleeve at the NAMM 2026( take a look at the Steve Morse Fanpage on Facebook) where you can see him play with Paul Gilbert: „still got the blues“.
You can see that it is painful for him to play but he still wants to go on – what an attitude!

Liebe thoughtful and nurturing Beate, now how could I forget the Arctic winters in Florida when Steve has to get the sleigh dogs out to check whether his hay farm is safe from visits of rampant polar bears!

Have you and the other girls been knitting mittens for him this year too?
