Great balls of fire

Another pioneer of rock’n’roll bites the dust — Jerry Lee Lewis has passed away at the age of 87 “from natural causes”. A very young British guitarist by the name of Ritchie Blackmore got his feet wet in Jerry Lee’s British touring band in the early 1960s.

Thanks to BraveWords for the heads up.

Yep. He told Ritchie, “Very good, boy!” when he noticed that Ritchie was able to play the guitar one-handed while talking to him.

    Uwe Hornung says:

Not only that, he even offered to take him to America with him, but Ritchie was still a minor, not that such legal intricacies ever really held the deceased unduly back from much! But JLL’s notoriety probably gave Ritchie’s parents some doubts.

What a trailblazer he was. It’s a wonder that he actually reached the age he did.

    Very good obituary here:

Sorry folks but please show some respect by talking about Jerry Lee Lewis and leave Mr Blackmore out of it.
