Robert Daem's review

August 15th was my daughter's birthday, but I got the best present. The mail man came by and delivered "Live At The Rotterdam Ahoy", all the way from Australia. (It took less than two weeks to deliver, thanks mates!)

I played it and I'm still playing it.

October 30th 2000 I went to see this concert in Rotterdam that makes the feeling of owning the CD extra special. The CD is of superb sound quality. Probably the best Deep Purple live CD I have. (And I have many!)

The show builds up and the magic increases and increases throughout the show. It's a pity that the "Concerto" parts had to be left out, but the RAH CD is a good alternative.

The brilliance of Ahoy 2000 lies within the songs of Dio (has he ever had a backing band this good?) and the performance of Deep Purple as a band. (They keep improving after the other banjo player left.)

"Fools" is beautiful, as is "When A Blind man Cries". I keep playing the "Well-Dressed Guitar" over and over again in my car at full volume!

There's just one thing to add: Buy it, you rock lovers!!!!!
