Happy old lass

Ian Gillan cheered the audienceon (as if it was needed) by calling the venue The Hammersmith Odeon.

I can't remember the whole setlist because after Fireball the band was on a roll. I've seen Deep Purple many times but this atmospere was electric. The highlight was the superb unexpected appearence of Jon Lord during Airey's keyboard solo, the crowd went wild. Lord and Airey up there together was something else.

A shame Morse didn't do a big solo and that his guitar lead seemed too short, but he had agreat rapport with the crowd - mouthing I love you to a blonde in the corner.

Also glad to hear Ian Gillan as last time he was voiceless.

You guys sure made on old girl happy.

Cathy Ives
