Deep Purple Concert in Belo Horizonte, Brazil

I was just wondering if any other band in the world could have gone through the 60's, 70's, 80's and now the 90's as well as Deep Purple has.
I got to know their fantastic music during my stay in Japan, where they seem to be treated as rock and roll gods. And I had that same feeling when I stepped into the Mineirinho stadium here in Belo Horizonte to see them live!!! It was not a dream, but at the same time it was. I could see them a few meters far from me, Gillan with his voice as strong as ever, Paice as quick and phenomenal as in their early days, Lord giving his free keyboard lessons (for he is one of the best, if not THE BEST), Glover leading the band's terrific sound, and Morse leaving no doubt he is the perfect one for the place Blackmore left empty.
I just can't describe the strong feeling that took me in the beautiful "When a Blind Man Cries" chorus, and I can't remember if I still had any voice on "Perfect Strangers". For a few inches I couldn't grab Paice's drumstick... But just the pleasure of seeing them live, and feeling like my japanese brothers in the "Made In Japan" album, made that night one of the most wonderful in my life.
I hope they come here again someday, and at that time I wish I could get any small piece of that stick, and I would keep it as a reminder that Deep Purple has been here, and will never leave my heart and mind.
Thank you for being the world's real Highway Stars!!!

Sincerely yours,
Frederico Gondim
(Belo Horizonte, Brazil)
