The Highway Star

Deep Purple - Belo Horizonte
[ d e e p P u r . p l e ) The Highway Star

I went to the Belo Horizonte concert thinking: "It is going to be OK They are going to play a bunch of song that are unknow to me but I,m going to listen to "Smoke on the Water". It gonna be Alright. It is worth to pay US$ 20 to hear it live. The gig will not be great stuff but "Smoke ..." will make it worth (I had been to a NOFX gig the week before & thought they were great and was expecting DP to be not so live as they are not so young) As I just have Burn & The Battle Rages On ... from DP so I had not much to expect as I knew they were not going to play any of those songs. But blow me! They are the greatest band I have ever seen live they could break any other band in 2 and eat the parts left. They are huge. They are a monster. You can't figure out what I'm saying except if went to a DP gig. Steve is the greatest guitarrist I have ever seen And he is a nice guy as well as he spent the breaks in the songs waving to the public. Ok, not all the breaks but he did wave to the public and was a great presence in stage. I loved the jams beetwen the members (bass, guitar, keyboards, drums & vocal) and my favourite one was the guitar & vocals one. It rules!!! YEAH!!! Now I'm going to save money to buy all the DP records and of course a Steve Morse solo album. Thanks guys hope to see you soon again.

Hugo
