The Beacon Theater show on the 27th was the third show of the US tour for me. We met up again at the Bear Bar a block or two from the theater. Tom Booth was there and it was cool meeting him. Misty and Svante showed up early on as well. Again my friends and I left before the others to catch the band going into the theater. One of my friends had missed meeting Glover the night before so we hoped to see him, if not the others. One of the security guys gave us all Morse pics which he had. Glover arrived not too long after and signed everyone's stuff despite the cold.

It was about 8 PM so we decided to go in without waiting for the others. Wild T & The Spirit opened the show again, and they were better tonight.

Purple opened with Hush as usual, and the sound seemed a little bit better tonight. The set list was the same song wise, but they of course added some new things in. Before Morse went into Smoke he played bits of Zeppelin, Hendrix and Cream! Jon through a bit of New York, New York into his solo which was cool!

Again the audience reaction was excellent. The show was close to, if not sold out. During Perfect Strangers a little girl jumped on stage and danced with Ian. Her mother joined a second later and the three danced for a bit. After security tried to lead them off stage Gillan helped them back to their seats. After this, a few others jumped on stage as well.

The interesting thing about seeing several shows more or less in a row is there were different highlights each night. In Hartford, The Aviator and Rosas Cantina were the highlights, mainly because I was surprised at how great they sound live. Tonight, Hey Cisco was a standout. Also until tonight I was always on the left side, but tonight I was on the right, with a great view of Paice. Ian Gillan seemed very happy on stage again, and there was a lot of interaction with the people in the front rows.

After the show we saw Joe Lynn Turner. I didn't get to speak to him, but he looked well, and seemed happy. Special thanks to Ed Janx for trying to help us out backstage - it didn't quite work out though! Can't wait until York Pa and Asbury Park.
