Open Air Festival, Schlossplatz, Coburg, Germany
July 3, 2004

Deep Purple is getting better and better every year, is it really possible?
The only Germany concert this year shows an unbelievable powerful band with superb new songs from Bananas and fresh, inimitable solo's. Don't get me wrong, I love the classic Purple songs and they were all there
this evening. (Strange Kind Of Woman, Woman From Tokio, Knocking At Your Backdoor, Space Trucking, Highway Star, Smoke On The Water, Hush, Black Night... ), but the new ones have got an undenieable charisma and leave a lasting impression.
Ian + Ian, Don, Steve and Roger are in a fine shape, they have got a lot of fun onstage and everybody was able to hear it and feel it, this incredible evening.
All in all, my question in the beginning must be answered with a big fat YEAH .
Eckhard / Germany

Yesterday I attended DP gig in Coburg, Germany. Me and my friend covered the distance from Ljubljana to Coburg - 700 km. It was worth it! Superb sound, superb band. It was my 23rd DP show.
Everything was OK except the audience. Infact it was crap. During Higway Star and SOTW, where all audiences in the world get crazy and rock out, Coburg crowd just stood there emotionless and watched the fivesome on stage. Very strange! Perhaps they didn't even know what band they are watching??
Can't wait until July 6th - Rock in Izola!!!!!
huge DP fan
