Rainbow has always been one of my favourite bands. I've been listening to it since I was about 10 years ( I'm 24 now ) The band of course then have a special place in my heart. I was very suprised when i heard earlier this year that Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow was giving out a new CD and starting on a new tour. On the new CD I think Black Masquerade is the best song. Well now over to the concert.
The show started with the opening sequenze from the On Stage CD. Then followed by Spotlight Kid. It was really great to see ( and hear ) Ritchie in action. I don't remember all the songs but here's What I think i was
LIST IT NOT IN PERFORMANCE ORDER. Just what i remember ...
THERE WERE ALSO OTHER SONG THAT I DON'T REMEMBER RIGHT NOW.
There seemed to mee that there were a lot of missunderstanding on the stage. Ritchie missed some solo's . He also missed hole the first verse on Starstruck. The song ( only one verse ) was performed without guitar. Sounded strange. Ritchie gave signs to the keyboard player during a guitar solo to join him in a solo , but the keyboard player shock his head, as a "NO WAY , I'm not John Lord" Neither he was ... The crowd bowed to Ritchie during the show, like Wayne and Garth ( In Waynes World ) in the " We're not Worthy "sequenzes. It was very funny. Hall of the mountain king was very critized in the norwegian newspapers, for it's Grieg Rip-off. The song was well recievd from the crowd.
I Think the show was ( like Ford FairLaine says : ) Unfuckin' belivable !!! For ME it's one of the best show I've ever seen. My friends tought Ritchie played better on the last Deep Purple tour !
The show was about 2 hours. It was a pity they didn't play for another 2 hours.
Songs I miss : Stargazer, 16. century greensleves, Kill the King and almost all the other older songs.
BTW. I SHOOK BLACKMORE'S HAND WHEN WE WENT DOWN TO THE CROWD BEFORE HE LEFT THE STAGE!!!!!!
