Through an old flame of his that keeps in contact with him, I can say that Dougie is still with Rainbow, and I'll just say that though he may sound like Jolene, he also does a very spine chilling version of Glenn Hughes.

Dougie actually has quite a varied career,

He started in a band called La Paz during the 80's (I saw them twice on their reunion gigs in Falkirk (of all places :-))

He then moved to London, formed a band with Alex Dickson (now of Bruce Dickinson's band) called Midinght Blue - as far as I know all I have is a demo tape of their stuff, and a promo 12" single (quite AOR bland IMHO) Then during the early 90's went to Japan with Preying Mantis (anyone remember them!), almost got the Maiden job, then finally popped up as TMIB's choice of singer for Rainbow.

Good luck to him I say

There's a bit of background for you

Additional info: His name's pronounced "Doogie".

Greg Smith (bass)
Played in a band called Red Dawn (with former Rainbow keyboardist David Rosenthal). Played on Alice Cooper's last album. Played in Joe Lynn Turner's live band (Joe Lynn Turner's Allstar Band).

Paul Morris (keyboards)
Played in Warlock. Played for Doro Pesch. (Warlock vocalist gone solo.)

John O'Reilly (drums) (DEPARTED)
John O'Reilly played on a project called CPR in 1992; CPR meaning Randy Coven, Al Pitrelli and John O'Reilly. Reportedly a jam-out album. He also played with Joe Lynn Turner, together with Greg Smith.

Left Rainbow late August.

Chuck Bürgi (drums)
The replacement for O'Reilly on the tour.

Chuck is well known in Deep Purple circles: he played on Roger Glover's solo album "The Mask", and from there was recruited to replace Bobby Rondinelli in Rainbow for their 1983 album "Bent Out of Shape". Chuck also plays on several of the tracks on "Finyl Vinyl". Last seen as the drummer in Blue Öyster Cult

Candice Night (Additional vocals)
Ritchie's fiancee, she's cowritten several songs on the album with him, and does some backing vocals. She's now an official band member.

Notes by Trond except elsewhere stated.

Dave Hodgkinson 25 September 1995.
