A bit too fast there, Trond: Ritchie closed the night with two separate sets of encores. First "Burn" and "Smoke" interpolating "Woman". They left the stage during SotW and came in and ended it, Ritchie threw T-shirts to the crowd and they left again. THEN we got another two encores: A full version of "Hey Joe" and " a pretty long "Black Night" with soloing and so on. Very enjoyable, and a great end to the show!! I couldn't believe what I saw, knowing that the shows before had ended with SotW, and I don't think DP ever played yet another songs after it on their 93tour(?)! It looked like TMiB was in a very good mood, playing really well and showing off a lot. Smiling, smiling, smiling. He left the guitar exactly like he did the last time in Oslo: Against the monitor, screaming out a high frequenzy feedback tone:-)
As you maybe gather from this, I liked the show very much. I think the new material worked really well, and they came away with the old in an honourable way. I missed the long solos that we're used to from Ritchie. The drum solo could have been skipped, it was boring and told more about Chuck than he would like us to know, I think:-/ Doogie's vocals were a pleasure to experience, he gave a lot more than on the record, and gained a lot on that. Still can't match Uriah Heep's singer at the moment, though (who's name escaped me right now).
Highlights: Hunting Humans, Man on the Silver Mountain, Ariel, Perfect Strangers, Burn (I feared the worst but it carried out great with Doogie and the bass player sharing the vocals), Hey Joe and Black Night.

That's right, and in fact, I didn't miss it at all.
Now, enough for the warm up, see you at the Hammy Apollo March 8th and 9th next year!:-)
