My impressions and feelings on Rainbow's concert in Copenhagen October 6. 1995.

My first impression was that KB-hallen was a lot smaller than I remember from 22 years ago (first DP concert with Coverdale/Hughes), but I guess it was just in my mind. Second there was the smoke, no ventilation. When I came, there was about 30 people in there, and the smoke visible but tolerable. When 'Milky' started you could not see the top of the side rows. When Rainbow came you could almost not see the stage. And still no ventilation.

I didn't bother to stay while 'Milky' played, I didn't like it. Then there was Rainbow (or Ritchie Blackmore and some other guys). Ritchie played rather well IMO. Chuck Bürgi played OK, the bassplayer was anonymous, the singer was a little better than JLT (but not much) and the keyboard 'player' stunk.

The first half of the concert (up to, and with, the drumsolo) was rather boring, then it got a little better, the highlights was Temple of The King and Ariel. And now the extra numbers. First Burn, was OK, then Smoke (rather appropriate) on The Water, with the members leave and come back. And then the sad part, Black Night. The whole concert Ritchie seemed to be in a good mood, smiling and such, but in the middle of Black Night he suddenly took off the guitar and left the stage, the singer looked rather confused and looked around on the others as to say 'now what?'. Then Ritchie came back and threw something into the audience (it looked like some black clothing) and left again, and didn't come back. The others tried to continue but gave up and the song stopped as air leaves a balloon. A sad way to stop a concert.

Now more than ever I'm looking forward to the new DP-CD, and tour next year.
