[ d e e p P u r . p l e ) The Highway Star

Last night (August,18, 1998) Deep Purple played in our fair town. What a treat it was to see absolute masters in action. From the begining with "Hush" to the ending with "Highway Star", not a let up in musical momentum. Only 2 songs ("Watching the Sky" and "Almost Human") from the new album. Too bad because "Abandon" is such a masterpiece. I think if the tour could drop either Dream Theater or ELP we`d all benefit from more Purple! As it was we only got a 90 minute show!! (only one encore, "Highway Star")
The band really rocks on stage and works like a well-oiled machine. They all looked good and played excellent. Steve Morse is an amazingly fast talented guitarist. (Dare I say Ritchie who?) This was my 3rd Deep Purple concert (they don`t get here often) and I can not wait for the next one. Purple not only rules, they rumble!!
