Deep Purple concert, 24 Sept 1998 Belgium Forest National

Deep Purple back in Belgium, this can't go wrong. And yes, what a wonderful evening it was. Deep Purple enjoyed themselves on stage with the new material which sounded even better live. Steve Morse fits perfectly into the group with a slight more aggressive sound but what a great guitar player. Abandon is a great new album so for me they may go on forever and come back to Belgium every year.
The concert was perfect from Ted the mechanic to Speed king with some very nice solo's inbetween and a variety of new songs. The crowd wanted more so of course they came back with Seventh Heaven (wonderful song) and an unbelieveble tight, hard and great Highway Star.
My friend who came with me, told me he saw Deep Purple in the same venue 22 years ago. When we drove home he kept on saying what a great night and he was so pleased he saw his heroes from his youth again. He knew it would be great but after all these years they still look an sound fantastic.
Deep Purple thank you very much for a fantastic evening.
See you next time (don't wait too long).

If you have a chance to see them on this tour, don't hesitate and go for it.

Greetings to Deep Purple from Belgium. You guys are in my heart forever.

Cheers,
Wim Berghmans
