Deep Purple in Ahoy Rotterdam october 12th 1998

I don't exaggerate when I say that it was the best concert I've ever seen! It's great to see that they are having a lot of fun doing the performance and they are really together! Steve gets the best out of Jon and Jon gets the best out of Steve. Deep Purple is the Fireball again! I saw Deep Purple back in 92 with Joe Lynn Turner on vocals, the concert was nice but it didn't have the that power and magic like last night.

The setlist:
Ted the Mechanic / Strange kind of woman / Bludsucker / Pictures of home / Almost human / Woman from Tokyo / Watching the sky / Finger to the bone / Any fule kno that / Smoke on the water / Lazy / Perfect Strangers / Speed king /
Encores: Black night / Highway Star

The place was packed and the crowd went wild. I enjoyed hearing the new songs as much as hearing the old songs. I think Abandon is one of Deep Purple's best albums and I can't wait to hear a new CD, hoping they won't change the lineup.
