What a concert!

I am a 63 year old man, and I am an 'eater' of all music. But the bottom line is I am a jazz freak. My son persuaded me to visit Deep Purple's rock concert at Globen in Stockholm. It was the first rock concert in my life. But it was such an experience on a very high level.

Before this concert, my top three drummers were Gene Krupa, Lou Bellson and Max Roach. After this evening I have a new favourite, Ian Paice. What a drummer! I don't believe it!

But I was most impressed by Jon Lord's improvisations on the keyboards. I could hear influences from Bach's Toccata and Fugue and also from Sabre Dance. He is my man in the band! I don't regret that my son persuaded me to see the Deep Purple concert.

We were backstage after the concert. It was also an new experience. I am very grateful for a nice evening! A special thank to my son Benny who persuade me to go.
