Washington DC show review
Jon, nearly missed his keyboard solo.

This was awesome! My favorite of the night. I love the strobe light.
Jon received a big ovation for his solo.
Gillans voice was not very good up to this point and he was very low in
the mix. However, he came to life here with WaBMC and ended this
song amazingly! I think it shocked the band how well he ended it.

This featured Ian Paice's solo. It was amazing! Ian ended it like I have
never heard him do before. He hit each drum in the semi circle of his
kit, boom-boom-boom-boom-boom,
from left to right, then stood up, raised his arm and shouted
"Arrrrgh!!!!". The rest of the band then proceed to do raise their arms
like Paicey. It was quite a funny moment.

Fortunately it was general admission. I managed to have a rather good
spot in the club. I was on the upper level right above Steve Morse. The
view was incrediable. I could clearly see Jon Lord and Ian Paice play
their instruments without being obstructed by their instruments. Ian
Paice is absolutely amazing. Jon Lord was likewise. I loved seeing
Steve in Jon's area during their interactions. It's good to see that
Steve Morse can move and get into the music. Roger and Steve's
synchonized swinging technics (ala ZZ Top) were cool to watch. I was a
bit disappointed in Gillan's performance. I could see him drinking behind
the drum set. That really didn't bother me as much as his singing and not
being able to hear him at times. Ian Gillan eventually moved his mic
stand back between Jon Lord and Ian Paice and sang from that spot for a
few songs. There were several long durations were Roger Glover was the
only one in the front area of the stage. As for the audiance, I would
guess the place was 75% full with a noticeable amouth of oriental fans.
Only the about the first 5-6 rows rocked through the whole concert. The
whole audience only got into SOTW and Highway Star. As for the band they
looked to enjoy themselves. They were constantly appluading each other.
