The Highway Star

Deep Purple - Quebec, Nov. 22, 1996

Me and my wife are big time Deep Purple fans. We drove 600 miles for this one.

We had an opening act "Wild T and the Spirit", who blew me away. But then when the Deep Purple came on, the whole place blew up. They opened with Hush. They still have that magic. Steve Morse did an amazing job being a (hopefully a fulltime member) Deep Purple. He did his own style which was great , I didn't miss Blackmore. Don't get me wrong, I like Blackmore but Steve brings what Gillan, Lord and Paice were looking for. They were awesome, Pictures of Home, Fireball, No one Came, Ted the Mechanic, Woman From Tokyo etc.....

The sound was fuckin' great!!!!!!!!!!! The moon was dim, the band was tight (F.Zappa)

The Theatre du Grand Quebec held about 1500 people, the atmosphere was amazing and the people were stomping and screaming all throughout the show.

     We'll never forget this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

     Deep Purple Rules!!!!!!
