For Smoke on the Water Steve Morse called the two guitarists from Hellacopters and Sepultura to the stage and they all played together an excellent version of the song. It appeared clearly that it was a pure improvisation - Steve guided the two guys several times...) and therefore it sounded excellent! A good idea! So here Steve did not play the intros of famous rock songs like he did before.
What else to say? It was an excellent crowd (sold out I guess, 20.000 people more or less), the concert hall (a basket ball arena), architecture like a dome, with quite good sound.
I have seen DP lots of time and I think they were in a great shape this night. Especially the new songs from Bananas were, all of them, superb.
The best performance for my was "House of Pain". Maybe interesting to say that none of the songs from Purpendicular or Abandon were played !
Eeeeaaaooouuwww!
