Dan the swaggerer

We arrive at 8.25pm just to hear an announcement that Deep Purple will be on stage in 5 minutes - perfect timing.

We get to our seats and the house lights dim then Purple hit the stage running and what a show. They were all on top form and good to see Don Airey look so at home.

From Lazy through The Well Dressed Guitar to Smoke On The Water with Space Truckin' to finish, it was all played superbly. My personal favourite was Perfect Strangers as Don becomes Jon.

How good is Steve Morse? Surely guitar playing can't be that easy.

Then Dan McCafferty swaggered on stage, bottle of beer in hand, to sing a few lines of Love Hurts.

All in all a night to remember and thanks for the plectrum, Steve.
