Back and forth for nowt

Checked The Highway Star in the morning - no news. Spent rest of day playing with my daughter - so did not log on again. Come four o'clock, got a phone call from my friend Carl, he was running late. Left to collect Carl and drop daughter with friends for the night. Pikachu gets dropped in puddle - alarms and excursions. By five, we had collected Carl, dropped off daughter and reached the M11. Took wrong turn in London and ended up going over London Bridge and back over Westminster Bridge - though I do not think this lost us any time. Arrived in Hammersmith at twenty to seven, parked up by the Dove and dashed in for food and a pint. Decided that a second drink was more important that the support band. Left the Dove well fed and watered and headed for the Apollo - show cancelled.

Central London at 8:30 is a nightmare to drive through. Should have gone back to the Dove for pudding, but did not think about it until we had reached the City. Home by 10:30, decide not to go to the party I had missed as five hours driving had left me knackered. Check e-mail, message from The Highway Star - update had arrived at 1:30. Bugger, if only...
