It’s Cliff

Back in 1970s Cliff Richard was hosting a TV show called It’s Cliff Richard. When the show was relaunched in September 1975 as It’s Cliff and Friends, the first episode opened with him performing Love Is All by Roger Glover and Eddie Hardin:

As you may have heard, Eddie Hardin passed away on July 23 this year.

Thanks to MrsPeetGallee for the video and to Nigel Young for bringing it to your attention.

RIP Eddie Hardin. I was reading about his passing over at classic rock a week or so ago. The Butterfly Ball would never have been so melodic without him! Cheers.

There can’t be many songs that have been sung by both Ronnie James Dio AND Cliff Richard!

Cliff Richard also recorded this song that was originally done by former Iron Maiden singer Paul Di’Anno http://youtu.be/oZToxzmq0Js

Thanks for the mention of Eddie´s passing. Eddie was kind enough to hold a Fan Q&A at the THS Forums a couple of years back, so I was kinda wondering why there had been nothing on this so far.

Thanks to Shane .. I am now going through in my head a) Dio songs withCliff singing and b) Cliff songs that Dio could have covered.

I have no answers to the first .. but how about a beefed up Devil Woman for the late great RJD !

Mark @ 7- We could have Rik Mayall singing them, he was always a fan of Cliff, from his Young One’s days. RIP to both of them, missed greatly. Cheers.

There’s also a new version of this song done by children all over the world by the charity Playing For Change – http://www.playingforchange.com

Does a pretty good job to be fair. In answer to Mark @7 think Ronnie could have covered some of Cliff’s “heavier” songs such as ‘Carrie’, maybe even ‘Power to All Our Friends’ and Cliff could have done some of Ronnie’s quieter songs such as ‘Temple of the King’. Would have been interesting.

Not to mention the Young One’s wonderful version of Summer Holiday, especially Vyvyan’s delicate, melodic & incredibly subtle vocals! Cheers.

Who is this guitarist that for example is playing the funny tune around 21 : 00 ?

    David Copperfield?

Am I confused or ……..that the same as the magician?
