Hell to Pay

Edel/earMUSIC has made available a second preview clip from Now What?!Hell to Pay. Well, sort of “available”. They really screwed the pooch on this one as the video is actually not available in many countries, including such major Purple markets as UK, Germany and Canada.

Go try your luck, or if it doesn’t work try one of the proxies in other countries.

I fear the production reminds me of Bananas: too smooth and with that constant annoying tambourine — performance wise: brilliant musicians , all. I
Don’t post often, just thought I might send in a gut reaction:). I guess I’m not 8 years old hearing Rat Bat Blue for the first time!! Oh the impact!! Peace?!

Very 80’s sounding, could be off both ‘Perfect Strangers & House of blue light’, minus ritchie and jon of course .

Album version with twice as much guitar solo and KILLER organ solo is pretty Purple pleasing to me.

I don’t have any idea what all the uproar is about regarding the ‘hook’…..”It’s gonna be hell…Hell to pay”. It’s a high energy Gillanesque rocker/anthem. Again, it’s a radio edit cut in about half for radio play (which most likely won’t happen). Purple tunes aren’t short radio friendly song in their entirety. They require the whole version to totally experience its worth. The dynamics of the songs are majorly encroached upon when they edit large portions out for airplay. It’s obvious there was a keyboard segment cut and probably some back and forth jamming between Airey and Morse that was cut. It’s a great song to elaborate on live with a high energy improve jam. These 2 songs stand very well as they are. I am truly excited to hear the full album versions. I am confident at this point they hit the mark on all MK8 Cylinders this go.

    CheerZ?!

I thought it was going to be hell to play here in Northeast USA, but it played fine.

Good tune, no doubt. Purple sound regardless of who Ian is singing around. Saying that because of all of the nay sayers and myriad opinions on any subject on the board….

    Bring it on….

    Peace,
    Ted
