BCC: the London tapes

Black Country Communion’s setlist at the London’s Shepherd Bush Empire on December 30 by all accounts was the same as Wolverhampton. Here are a few rather good quality videos from the gig.

I gotta say here, they sure do sound great. Great Rock & Blues. Hope they make it here to the states. Am enjoying the album too.

FYI….Joe Bonamassa is doing a 1 hour long show on the “101” channel on Direct TV called the ‘Guitar Center Sessions’, whereby he is interviewed and plays live. Multiple time slots all week and beyond….

    Cheers and “HAPPY NEW YEAR”!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This gig was a blast. I have not seen a better concert in many years. Joe Bonamassa played like a real rock-god. Bonham surprised me in a positive way. Glenns voice is still in a great shape. Bring on the summer and BCC2 quickly !

The new songs are finished, but isn’t it rather hastey to demand their new album when the first one just came out? Man I don’t get some people’s logic. This debut album is KILLER! It gets better with every listen, I have to rate it as possibly the best rock album in over a decade, bording on a historic level of accomplishment. It’s THAT good! I thank heaven above for this band!

    @10

Agreed, and we need more of this fresh good thing – it’s that logic.

    @ 10

    I dont understand your frustration.

In earlier days it was very common that bands recorded several albums in a short time.
Quite often taking that as a good platform for a live set without too much “covers”.

Rainbow did about the same with the first 2 albums.
That way we got “ON STAGE” which did not fell flat on us.

Well, at least a lot of us here now seem more convinced about Glenns abilities
This instead of bashing him for his shortcomings.

Glenn does not only do WHOOOP and so on but recorder many great songs on solo albums and in sessions.

Listen to 7th Star and still say he is a wanker.

BCC has now gained real momentum and its perfect that they have the will and INSPIRATION to do a 2nd aLBUM.

Now they are into it and I plead for at least 3 BCC albums in a short time.

Even if they quit after that we will be able to cherish them for decades, like we did with bURN and CTTB.

    Roberto says:

Wow!! What a great solo on Burn! Joe rules!!

    Jeogger Matthews says:

Glenn would be a great replacement for IG on today’s DP!!!

Tracy Heyder (aka Zero the Hero) says:

    #14…..

Yeah, and then Gillan could replace Hughes in BCC……

    WTF!!!!!!!!

    Cheers

    AndreA says:

Poor GH singing LZ’s song….it could be that his fantasy has reached its limit
This is so funny to see him so self-centered perky like a prima donna: a great actress … as a cover band is not bad, but Burn does shit.
Congratulations to this pseudo band …

  17. 17
Tracy Heyder (aka Zero the Hero) says:

    AndreA…..

I am sorry, but I don’t get your drift here. The Band is playing a LZ song. The Band is Black Country Communion. They have an Album out of Original material. They are a band made up of various musicians with various past backgrounds. They are playing live versions of songs from each ones past along with their OWN NEW material. What is pseudo about that? Obviously, ‘No Quarter’ is done for the sake of Jason Bonham. ‘Burn’ is being done for Glenn as was ‘Mistreated’ during their debut. They are also doing ‘Ballad of John Henry’ which is a Joe Bonamassa tune.

I’d say they did it up right. Not a true Tribute band like OTR. They are playing Their Own songs and just a couple of covers for the sake of each band member. These guys are legit and one of the best things to happen in over 10 years…..Give me a friggin’ break!!

    Cheers

    Lazy says:

AndreA, you are so pathetic … 🙂

  19. 19
    Roberto says:

Yeah, in fact, “No quarter” sung by Glenn is awful, they should take it off their set list, maybe replace by “rock´n roll” or something like that.
I think BCC is a great band, mostly due the guitar player, but they would be bigger with a real frontman. But BCC is not big enough for a frontman and Glenn´s ego.

    Lazy..you vould be right, I admit… 🙂
But believe me: the 1st BCC I bought has already been abandoned in some shelf … too boring, but obviously it’s my thought, not a state’s law. I was very disappointed with this cd…

but about the single performed by Gillan Iommi Newsted McBrain: what is happened? when will it get out int stores?

  21. 21
    AndreA says:

    Lazy (@18),
you could be right, I admit 🙂
but with the 1st BCC cd I disappointed…
Obviously it is only my opinion,my point of view…

    But…

About Gillan Newsted Iommi McBrain: when will we get this work on stores?! it is finished all over in silence…

    ciao brothers..

    Frack says:

AndreA …..I couldnt have said it any better …to even watch this guy is embarrassing. The problem is, it gets worse every year …

  24. 24
    AndreA says:

yes pp but LZ is consumerism trend for fashion parades, DP simply for rockers.

  25. 25
    purplepriest1965 says:

    Dear Andrea

Could you be so kind to explain the origin of your Led Zeppelin trauma?
I seem to remember that you were a big fan….

    Cheers,Mark

  26. 26
    AndreA says:

    ahahah PP,
you are so funny to read! sure I have never been its fanbefore even if i possess some cd..
I consider LZ a overestimated band. every their fart is splashed across the media..DP are not so disgraced…
