    The other day, I was listening to William Russo’s “Three Pieces for Blues Band and Symphony Orchestra” (Op. 50), which always reminds me of the concerto–not in sound, but in spirit. The Russo piece came out in 1968, and I’ve always wondered if Lord heard it at the time.
