Perfoming like court jesters for these powermad greedheads was a foolish and whorish blunder. And not at all in keeping with the spirit of openness of generosity of this great band.

Dear Ian, Roger, Ian, Steve, and Don–please remember your great gig in San Francisco in the summer of 2007. That was your audience, like so many other audiences you have performed for over the years. People who come to rock with Deep Purple not because they can afford to rent the band for their own swinish private party, but because they love your music enough to budget the money to pay for a seat at a show where they can celebrate your music with people who share their delight in the band.

Those are your people. And don’t forget it. Ever again.
