Highway Star - a journey in rock
The Highway Star

Ian Gillan's new six hour autobiographical DVD offers a thorough, compelling and infectious look at Ian's professional career - which in 2006 reached its 40th anniversary.

The full content of the double DVD is revealed in the track list bottom right (click for larger version), but suffice to say (nearly) all the relevant people turned up for lengthy in-depth interviews (guess who's missing?).

Ian Gillan himself even went to Montreux to give the story behind 'Smoke On The Water' from a small boat on Lake Geneva itself.

Get the lowdown on this mammoth release and see just what those six hours contain, as Rasmus Heide discovers there's something for everybody.

It's all been smothered in live footage from Deep Purple's world tours of 2004 and 2006. Dig into our detailed review.

Interviews:
Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Jon Lord, Colin Towns, Ian Paice, Don Airey, Steve Morse, 'funky' Claude Nobs, Tony Iommi, Luciano Pavarotti, Tim Rice, Bruce Payne, Phil Banfield, Bron & Grace Gillan, Audrey Parkinson (Ian's mum), George Best, Ronnie James Dio, Joe Satriani and Joe Elliott.

New concert footage:
