What's "Mary Long" about?
Mary Long probably refers to Mary Whitehouse and Lord Longford. They were both very active back in the late 60s / early 70s campaigning against sex, porn, drugs, and just about everything else. Mary Whitehouse, in particular, is a household name in the UK synonymous with complaining about there being too much sex on the television.
