Denver Concert

I've been a committed follower of Deep Purple and the various subsidiaries since I was 16, some 25 years in all and flew into Denver from the UK just to see the concert.

It was totally stunning and left me beyond words. I missed some of the more spectacular effects of old though, I remember seeing Ian Pace at the Queens Hall, Leeds (UK) with huge burners all around him as he performed a solo, and a highly animated solo by Jon Lord back in Sheffield. Special effects in Denver by contrast were very tame. But it took nothing away from the music which to me was nothing less than perfection. It felt as though the band played to my soul and plucked at every emotion within me. Amazing!. What an excellent mix of old and new...the band should never end.

My only real complaint if any .... it was over way too quickly... but I suppose they always say 'leave 'em wanting more'. Let's not leave it so long till the next tour though guys.
