Ian Paice Drum Clinic Camden Jan 1998

Due to work commitments this was the only show I managed to attend. As this was the first of it's kind that I had attended I really did not know what to expect. The event was held at Dingwalls which could barely hold 300 when full. Suprisingly the place was packed. The evening consisted of Paicey coming on and answering some questions about not only drum related issues but also Purple etc. Some interesting questions and even more interesting answers; "Purple with Blackmore had no future, Purple without Blackmore have a great future". I couldn't have put it better myself. Paicey was quite simply stunning. Fireball, You Fool No One, Rat Bat Blue (which he forgot) and a stunning Hey Cisco, all played with the power and feeling that we have come to love. I managed to shoot off 25 minutes of drumming on video and is excellent footage as I was only 2 rows from the front.
I also managed to blag the snare skin he used that evening, got him to sign it and I will offer it as a prize in the next issue of Darker Than Blue.
