Deep Purple on the Big Breakfast

The show opened with Smoke on the Water and featured the band all the way through, heavily hyped as Rock Legends. I guess this explains why they only played old stuff.
Later they played Black Night and then they closed with Smoke On The Water again.
The performances were good considering the atmosphere was hardly what they were used to. The high point was where the band introduced the last half hour of the show over the Ted riff, with Gillan screaming over the top.

There was a short interview and trivia section which was pretty run of the mill though there were some weird statistics - the band were in hysterics when the presenter gave a figure for how much the band had allegedly earned in the MH era - it was a ridiculous figure and Jon made some comment about them having come from his ex-wife's lawyer.
