Review of the concert in Oslo Spektrum

On October 4 '98 I went to Oslo to experience Deep Purple. My expectations were not small, and I was not disappointed. Although the Norwegian papers reviewed the concert pretty badly, as a fan, I thought it was great. A little to much of the new stuff, but all in all it was fun.

The versions of Woman From Tokyo, Pictures of Home, Smoke on the Water (of course) and Highway Star were great, especially Highway Star. The lack of Child in Time and Black Night was a bit disappointing though, but I'll live.

To sum things up, I just have to say, Deep Purple is one of the best bands I have ever seen live, and they also have the best fans. When my glasses fell on the floor during Smoke on the Water, I sort of got a panic, but after a short while a nice woman pricked me on my shoulder, returning my glasses just as new. Luck, and the best fan I have ever met. Thanks to DP for a great concert, and thanks to the nice woman who helped me see more than half the concert.
