Sydney - superb!

I was a little disappointed that there was not a few more songs from "Abandon" and "Purpendicular". The old favourites are good, but there is only so many ways to play them. "Hush", "Fools", "Mary Long" and "When A Blind Man Cries" were a great addition. I wish that they would drop "Woman From Tokyo" - in my opinion, this is one of the weakest songs they have ever recorded.

Ian Gillan was brilliant, don't anybody ever say again that he has lost it and cannot sing - definitely better than two years ago. I thought Jon Lord had a quiet night, while Steve Morse seemed to really get into it. I loved Ian Paice's drum solo, especially his one handed snare roll while leaning on his other hand looking like he wanted to go to sleep. And the ever-reliable Roger Glover - fantastic bass lines.

All in all, a very polished performance. I'm getting ready for my second dose in Newcastle on Wednesday - can't wait.
