Deep Purple in Newcastle, Australia

Last night I had the pleasure of seeing Deep Purple for the second time in two years. I was fortunate enough to have seats in the fourth row.

I can only say that the band seem to be playing better than ever, they obviously enjoy their music and appear to be having a good time on stage.

The set list was changed form last tour and included some surprises like "Fools", "When A Blind Man Cries" and "Hey Cisco". Nothing from "Abandon", but this was not a problem as all the classics were there.

Ian Gillan and his mates are playing and enjoying themselves on stage and this carries over to the audience, well done.

Thank you Purple for not ignoring Australia, unlike many overseas bands who seem to forget that there are still some lovers of rock music in this country.
