Misc. txt This is stuff that isn't really DP related, but still made our trip what it was, and worthwhile. Bills1.jpg - Well you can't go on a trip without incurring bills and Bills2.jpg spending some hard cash. Here are some receipts from record shops, the hotel, cash machines, etc. The average rate of exchange was somewhere in the vicinity of 2.47 Canadian Dollars to 1 British Pound Sterling. Ouch! Booty.jpg - Here's where most of my spending cash went, other than the perennial pubs - DP merchandise! My collection is now much greater thanks in no small part to Simon Robinson and the DPAS Convention. Elvis.jpg - What self-repsecting trip to a concert in a foreign country would be complete without an Elvis sighting? Here Line trys to get that elusive autograph. I think she had much better luck with Rog and Ian! Hotel.jpg - This is the flyer put out by our London residence. A nice spot, Hotel2.jpg close to the RAH, Imperial College and The Goat Tavern. A lift would have been nice, but we were in much better shape by the time we left! Why are drummers always on the top floor - even on vacation? :-( LHR.jpg - This was the scene at Gate 10, Heathrow as we waited to board our plane for Ottawa. As usual, the trip was FAR too short. Note1,jpg - One pleasant surprise we've discovered since meeting all our new Note2.jpg DP friends is that they are a courteous lot, and they do as they say. True to form, we were met at the hotel by the Consierge with notes from both Glen, who was out on a CD hunt, and Wolf, who had dropped by and not been able to meet up with us. PurpleLounge.jpg - This is the promo for The Purple Lounge at The Royal George Pub on Goslett Yard. None of us knew this lounge was there in the basement, but it sure put a neat spin on our first meeting. It's really too bad the Company of Snakes gig didn't happen, as this would have been the perfect pre and apres show hot spot! I'm sure we did it justice, in any event. Stuff.jpg - A collection of flyers, tickets, etc. that we aquired on the trip. We did a fair bit in 7 days... Tickets.jpg - Our four tickets to the RAH shows. We were in the 2nd row in Section A on Saturday and the 3rd Row, Section B on Sunday. Spectacular seats and we are forever indebted to Doug MacBeath, Stephen Thompson and Martin Ashberry for their thoughtfulness. No amount of free beer could possibly make up for this! Tube.jpg. - This is the extent of our Tube travels on our trips. We covered some "foreign" territory this trip, and the experience is *different* at times. There's nothing like The Tube at 6 pm, though. Sardine city! Most of these trips taken multiple times. Tube2.jpg - This is a scene we got to see quite a lot of. This is the Picadilly Circus tube station way down for the Picadilly Line. This is the line we normally took to Gloucester Road, for the hotel, and also to and from Heathrow Terminal 4. Tubed!.jpg - The London Visitor Cards we aquired prior to leaving Canada. These gave us unlimited all-zone use of the tube & city buses, Docklands Light Railway and BritRail within a certain distance around London. We're sure they paid for themselves twice over with all the tube and rail trips we took. They also came with a bunch of discount coupons that we put to good use. Buckingham Palace was awesome!
