Montevideo rocks with Deep Purple
At the afternoon, the rain makes me think that there’s no concert today, but at 8 p.m the rain is over. We are two Deep Purple fans. We never saw the group before, and it was their first time in Uruguay. The Velodromo was full (outdoor) and the expectations were big.
After the local support band, the lights goes down…and, yes, Deep Purple are onstage. Fresh, vital, hard, were the characteristics of the members.
The songs were the same of the European tour, but the sound was very good, despite the renews of others concerts, Gillan voice was very clearly, and the sound of the instruments also, very good solos of Airey, Morse and Glover (Black Night) and the clasic power of Paice.
The public, well, people between 12 and 65, three generations at the same place. New songs were welcome and the oldies were a party for the public, Highway Star and Smoke on the water were the top moments.
With the satisfaction of a very good concert, and with the hope of a new visit in the future, we says, thanks Deep Purple for the music !
