Excellent energizing show

I knew I was in for a great show when Deep Purple came out on stage and opened up with Fireball.

Having browsed over some set lists from previous shows I was expecting Highway Star or Woman From Tokyo. What a great surprise it was when they played Fireball. That song set the tone for the entire DP show because they did not slow down at all.

I thought they played great and Ian Gillan really fired up the crowd with his vocals (he can definitely still get the screams in). Ian Paice, who is so smooth on the drums, makes it look effortless. The entire band played great.

Of course, Jon Lord is no longer with the band but I thought Don Airey did a fine job. I was glad they played Speed King, one of my all time favorites, and it was awesome.

You could definitely tell the true Purp fans by the ones who were jammin' to the likes of Fireball, Speed King and Black Night - I was on my feet the whole time.

I saw them last year at the same venue and was just as impressed this year as I was last year. Great show, Deep Purple can still bring it.

Woman From Tokyo
Ted The Mechanic

Knocking At Your Back Door
